There are many different signature styles of painting technique an artist may work. There are no right or wrong way, but finding the right method for you is the journey in itself. However, in the beginning, most artists start out using the basic foundational method that is commonly used. First, layout a quick sketch. Lay down big shapes using dark silhouettes. Add some mid tones by finding the light source. Then mix some lighter tones and bounced light by directing the intensity of the light. Lastly, add some highlights and details.
